Cross-Country Skiing

There are cross-country ski trails extending from downtown Land O’ Lakes north into Michigan's Upper Peninsula. These are groomed and maintained all winter long when conditions demand. The nearby Sylvania Wilderness Area also offers over 25 miles of trails winding through its beautiful forests. The Watersmeet area is also surrounded by many miles of ski trails, with all levels of difficulty.

Angler’s Isle is located in the heart of Northwoods snowmobile country. Our location provides immediate access to one of the main trails of the extensive network connecting various towns of Wisconsin and extending into the vast wilderness of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. The trails are well groomed and maintained, offering miles of excitement. Gas, rentals and food are available at each lodging destination. The trails, service, facilities and friendly people make this area one of the best snowmobiling destination in the Midwest. You can map your routes through great little towns such as Presque Isle, Boulder Junction, Sayner, Eagle River, Land O’ Lakes, and Watersmeet. Or, take a day ride all the way to Lake Gogebic and Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. You’re nearly home when you stop in for a sandwich at Bent’s Camp on your return trip.
